Kemer, known as Antalya’s elegant jewel, is easily one of the Mediterranean’s most attractive holiday spots. Blessed with warm sunshine, turquoise seas, and lush green landscapes, Kemer perfectly blends historical sites with natural beauty. Whether you’re looking for adventure, history, or relaxation, this resort town has it all.
Just a short drive from Antalya city (about 40 km), nestled at the foot of the spectacular Taurus Mountains, Kemer is home to ancient ruins, secluded bays, and charming beaches.
Having explored these sites myself, here’s my recommended list of the very best places to visit in Kemer:
1. Göynük Canyon
If you love nature, Göynük Canyon is unmissable. Situated on the famous Lycian Way between Antalya and Kemer, the canyon offers lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and crystal-clear pools. Activities range from scenic trekking routes to thrilling zipline experiences. On hot summer days, swimming in the cool waters of Göynük Canyon is incredibly refreshing. It’s ideal for visitors of all ages and a great spot to spend a day surrounded by spectacular scenery.

2. Phaselis Ancient City
For history enthusiasts, Phaselis Ancient City is a real highlight. Founded by Rhodian sailors in the 7th century BC, it was an important harbour city through Roman and Byzantine times. The ancient theatre, agora, aqueducts, and Roman baths are captivating. After exploring the ruins, take a relaxing dip at the lovely beach beside the ancient city, where history meets nature perfectly.
3. Çıralı & Yanartaş (Chimaera)
Çıralı is peaceful, picturesque, and home to the legendary Yanartaş (Chimaera)—natural flames that have burned constantly for thousands of years due to underground gas. Visiting at night is especially magical. The area is also known for its quiet, wide beaches, clear waters, and excellent hiking trails. It’s even a nesting area for endangered loggerhead turtles, making Çıralı important for wildlife conservation.

4. Mount Tahtalı (Olympos Teleferik)
Mount Tahtalı rises 2365 metres above sea level, offering the best views around Kemer. Take the modern cable car to the top for breathtaking panoramas of the Taurus Mountains and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Adventurous visitors can enjoy paragliding, hiking, or mountain biking. Whether summer or winter, Mount Tahtalı offers incredible views and unforgettable experiences.
5. Paris II Shipwreck
Divers shouldn’t miss the chance to explore the Paris II Shipwreck, a French warship sunk during World War I.
